Basically we just booked with Thomson through Thomas Cook (at the last minute as you probably gathered, as we were meant to be going to Cuba but the hotel there sent us a letter saying they were undergoing reconstruction work...), and there are various options like 'I'd like a balcony', or 'Ocean view' or whatever, and one of the categories is if it's a celebration such as a wedding, honeymoon, anniversary etc so we asked that they tick that box for us and add a note. When we arrived to check in they must have had all this in front of them with our details and upgraded us without us having to do anything, so just make sure you get your travel agent to tick the right box when you book and put a word in for you!
